UNEMPLOYMENT RATES

In May 2021, Maryland's unemployment rate dropped to 6.1%, while the national rate fell to 5.8%. The State's labor force participation rate, which is the number of employed and unemployed workers divided by the civilian population number, was 65.4. Of the 3,122,554 civilian workers in Maryland, 2,932,231 were employed and 190,323 were unemployed.
